And we're back! You may have noticed, that I haven't blogged in almost 2 weeks. There are two reasons for this. 1. There was nothing to blog about, and 2. I didn't feel like blogging about nothing. Oh, well. Look at the time. It's 25 to midnight. Looks like you're gonna have to wait to tomorrow before you can read anything remotely interesting. I'm going to meet some pen pals that I wrote letters to in FSL. That should be an interesting experience. Wish me luck!

Not a Blog
Kinda like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" except it's a blog, and I'm not wimpy. So, nothing like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" at all, actually.

Monday 27 May 2013
Well I met an old man dying on a train.
It's gonna be a long week. The grade 6s at my school are starting their EQAO assessment, and that means longer class times, shorter breaks. Hopefully AWOLNATION can help me get through that. My new favorite song is called "Kill Your Heroes" by them. It's a really good song. You can find it here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_H77Ledl_I Their my favorite band. Anything by them is a well thought out masterpiece. Unlike whatever Phillip Phillips has to offer. See yesterdays blog for my opinion on that. Maybe I'll consider doing a musical autopsy on one of AWOLNATION's songs. Look for that in the future.
Anyway, aside from the fact that this week is gonna suck, there really isn't much to talk about. My graduation is coming up. It's not really a big deal, because it's only grade 8, but everyone seems to think it's this big celebration. It's more of a transition really. And the fact that my school is a 6 to 12 school makes it even more insignificant. I'm still going to see all my friends from previous years, I'm still gonna see all my teachers from previous years, so I just don't understand why everyone is buying dresses and getting their hair done up. It all just seems so stupid. Me, I'm just gonna put on the nicest clothes that I already own, go to this ceremony, and just hang out. No fancy or flashy stuff. Just me, my hat, and a bunch of friends.
We wrote a letter to our future teachers today. I tried to make it as funny, while still straying away from what I am actually like. Around new people, I'm incredibly introverted. I was actually incredibly intimidated by one of my best friends when I first met him, Hell, I still am now, but even more so then. Truth is, his height, his attitude, the fact that he knows Tai-Kwon Do, and his all around personality scared me. I almost felt obligated to become friends with him, because me and my best friend Mason got put into different classes, and we needed to make new friends, so when Mason introduced me to him, I kinda felt like I was supposed to be friends with him. Talking to him was probably one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Becoming friends with him made me realize, that being an introverted person doesn't mean you have to be shy, it just means that you tend to keep to yourself. This guy that I met is awesome (albeit a little scary) and he has become one of my best friends over time.
I also developed my relationships with a bunch of other people this year. Last year, I felt very secluded, as it was just Mason and I who would hang out. We wouldn't really talk with or meet anyone else. Later in the year last year, I made a bunch of new friends, and those relationships have stuck with me for the past year, and will continue to stick with me forever. There is something about being stuck in the same class with a person all year that sorta forces you to get to know them, and I'm definitely thankful for that.
For those of you who don't know, I was Student Council President this year. I only got to plan one thing, and that was the Halloween Dance, but due to the whole "We think that the Canadian government is obnoxious so we are going on strike for no apparent reason because we think that we should get paid more even though I can afford to go shopping everyday for the rest of my life" bullcrap, I was cut off, because extra curricular activities got shut down. That ticked me off majorly. The reason why I ran in the first place was because I thought that I should voice the people's opinions and not just my own. Look how that turned out. I'm running a blog in which I voice my own opinions and nobody else's. Point is, I wanted to be the voice of the people, and to this day, people have constantly been coming up to me and asking why we haven't done anything fun anymore, and it bugs me that I have to tell them that I'm not in power anymore, because every time I do, It reminds me that the one time I tried to be in power, was the one time I got shot down.
As a result of this, I have decided to embrace the whole "Kill Your Heroes" attitude. Telling people that they don't have to look up to anyone, and to just be yourself has really helped me embrace the fact that I don't need to be at power to voice the people's opinion. I just need to be myself. I guess what I'm saying is all kinda hypocritical, because I just put myself up to be valedictorian, but that's different. I want to be valedictorian to give a speech about all the good times we had, and how all those experiences will change our lives, not about all that "The world is your oyster" crap. Because truth is, we should dwell in the past. It's called reflecting, and if we didn't do it, we wouldn't be able to look forward to the future.

Phillip Phillips is a dumb name anyway...
It's been a long time, but maybe we can put our differences aside, for science. You monster. JUST KIDDING! No sentient robot beings here. Anyway, I missed Yesterday, but I was really tired, and just didn't feel like blogging at all, so today is an opinion blog. How nice.
Today, I want to talk about music. Today's music has gone down the drain. Apart from the stuff that I actually like, I hate pretty much all types of music. But when looking at music from an alien's point of view, you'll find out that our opinions aren't much different. I'm going to take a page out of Adam Buckley's book, and do something that he calls a musical autopsy. So let's crack out the rib splitter and open this sucker up. Today's musical autopsy is: Home by Phillip Phillips.
Hold on, To me ask we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
and although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you're not alone
Cause I'm gonna make this place your home
Now, at this point, the song is pretty okay. It's not a remake, or a remix, or a cover. So, that's a bonus.
Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
You get lost you can always be found
Just know you're not alone,
Cause I'm gonna make this place your home
More original lyrics. Paired with the music, this might actually be a good song. Let's find out what it's like after this.
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo. Oo-oo-oo-oo (x2)
Aaa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa. Aa-aa-aa-aa(x4)
This is where the song goes downhill. I find that most songs have been doing this recently. Mistaking lyrics for noises is not good music. It's just lazy. I dare you to find any song nowadays that doesn't replace good lyric time with crappy noises. Jeez...
Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
You get lost you can always be found
Just know you're not alone,
Cause I'm gonna make this place your home
Oh. You're just going to repeat the same thing that happened 30 seconds ago, rather that creating a new verse. You know, I would normally call anything thing lazy "efficient," but this is seriously lazy.
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo. Oo-oo-oo-oo (x4)
Aaa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa-aa. Aa-aa-aa-aa(x4)
Was I the only one who saw this coming? All Phillip did was extend what he did previously in the song, and repeat the same annoying sound OVER AND OVER again. Really? Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's all the lyrics. The song is actually song length, but there is only 30-40 seconds of actual singing in the song. Most of it is just filler noises. This is exactly what annoys me about modern music. There is not effort in it whatsoever! It's just "Well, I'll probably just hum or yell into the mic for 3 minutes, and then slap some actual lyrics in so it sounds like an actual song." Do me a favor, and put more effort into the music you make. Don't look at it just as an outlet for money. If you do, you might end up on musical autopsy. So, this has been my crack at Adam Buckley's style of videos. Thanks for reading Musical Autopsy. Bag em' and Tag em'

Minutes to Midnight
It is officially 4 minutes to midnight, and have to get this blog published before then so I it counts as today's blog. I think I am going to wait to tomorrow to blog, and I'll make it extra large to compensate for this tiny little blog. I just don't feel like writing an entire page worth of stuff in 3 minutes. Sorry

Idiocy Causes Lists
Trust me, missing a blog yesterday because of sleep problems is a totally valid reason. Seriously though, I feel bad about missing yesterday, so I figured I'd do an extra long blog to make up for my idiocy. So, today (with idea credit to Mariah O'Donnell) I am going to be talking about my favorite YouTube video makers. I am going to put a name, A link to their content, and why I enjoy their videos. So without further introduction, I present to you,
SEAN'S LIST OF SUPERAWESOMECRAZYCOOLFUNNYSOMETIMESINCREDBLYIMMATUREBUTIENJOYTHEMANYWAYBECAUSETHEYMAKEGOODVIDEOS YOUTUBERS. And yes, superawesomecrazyfunnysometimesincrediblyimmaturebutienjoythemanywaybecausetheymakegoodvideos is a word. Also, these are in NO PARTICULAR ORDER.
1. Michael Stevens - http://www.youtube.com/vsauce - I really enjoy these types of videos, because what Michael does, is he asks ridiculous questions that nobody ever thinks about, (unless they are half insane as me) and answers them with incredible detail using math, science, and common knowledge. If you are a curious person like me, I highly recommend that you watch some of this stuff.
2. TomSka - http://www.youtube.com/tomska - This guy puts out some of the funniest sketch videos I have ever seen on the internet. Some of my readers may know him as the guy who puts out the awesome ASDF movies. I know him as the guy who puts out stuff like "Musical Suicide"and "What Happened?" His videos are definitely worth the view
3. George Watsky - http://www.youtube.com/gwatsky - BEST. RAPPER. EVER.
4. Jon Jafari - http://www.youtube.com/jontronshow - This guy right here puts out some of the best, most hyper, and insightful reviews into games. He doesn't update very often, but It's quality over quantity. But what do I know? It's not like I play video games or anything...
5. Cosmo Wright - http://www.youtube.com/cosmospeedruns - This guy is really awesome at video games. You have no idea how insane this guy is. He knows more about games than I will ever hope to. He can beat Ocarina of Time (Google it) in 25 minutes or less! Seriously. Wow.
6. Dan Hardcastle - http://www.youtube.com/officialnerdcubed - Dan makes some of the best video game commentaries I have ever seen. His videos vary in variety, style, and just overall awesomeness. He also provides very open minded insights in to what games are all about, and he has a particular hatred for EA. Also, he plays games with his dad. Which is nice.
7. Stuart Ashen - http://www.youtube.com/ashens - This is Stuart Ashen. He possess the ability that I wish I had. He could talk for hours, even days at a time, and not get boring. He always has something funny to say, and he will keep you laughing for hours on end. What does he do? He reviews toys. Dollarama toys. But he is funny while doing it. Watch his videos.
8. Craig Benzine - http://www.youtube.com/wheezywaiter - This guy is utterly hilarious. With a lot of charm, tons of clones, and a hint of explosions, he makes wonderful videos that are sure to make anybody laugh. Also, he occasionally makes songs. Craig Benzine everybody!
9. Criken - http://www.youtube.com/criken2 - The best Youtube video game commentary channel. Ever. Criken and his band of misfits play games together, and they have fun. Someof the funniest videos I have ever seen come out of this channel. Watch this chiz.
10. PBG - http://www.youtube.com/peanutbuttergamer - Even though he doesn't provide his real name on any social media sights, he is easy to identify by his witty comedy and his blatant use of red arrows. Seriously though, he is incredibly funny! Oh, and guess what? HE PLAY VIDEO GAMES A LOT!
11. Remy - http://www.youtube.com/goremy - Remy is a master at what he does. He makes music. He creates some of the most well crafted music pieces I've ever heard, and their hilarious! He creates music based on a variety of topics, ranging from Call of Duty, to jam on toast. He is probably my favorite musician in the world. Go Remy!
So, there you have it. 11 of my favorite YouTubers. Watch these videos carefully.

The Camp Chronicles: The Grim Adventures of Sean Connell
Whew! It's good to be home. A long weekend at camp doing pretty much nothing except eating crappy food and being forced to beatbox for the entertainment of others is far from a worthy topic, but because I have nothing else to talk about, I'm going to write about it anyway.
The Camp Chronicles: Friday
Woke up at 8:00 and started packing. I didn't have to do much, since I packed most of the stuff the night before, but there was still some work to be done, so I did it. 4 hours later, I'm in Lakehurst, ON being eaten alive by mosquitoes while desperately trying to set up my tent. At this point, I am thinking "This is going to be a long weekend." My assumptions proved correct. My good friend Juan arrived about an hour after I did. That was relieving, because I was worried about not having anyone to talk to. We talked back and forth a bit, and before we knew it, we were asleep.
The Camp Chronicles: Saturday
Woke up Saturday feeling great. There is just something about sleeping outside that makes getting up so easy. I think it's the fresh air. Anyway. I got up, had a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and I was ready for the day. Now, the few of you who know me well, know that I have a deathly fear of water, So Saturday was my day in personal hell. One of the guys at the camp brought a boat, and decided that it would be a good time to put it in the water, so we all went down to the beach. After the boat got put into the water, we had to dock it, and the dock was just a little ways down the lake, so reluctantly, I got in the boat, put on a life jacket, and we were off. Being a person who is afraid of water, getting into a boat is a weird experience, because before you get in the boat, your nerves are shot. You think boats are the devil in metal form coming to capsize with you in it. Once you are in the boat however, you feel perfectly fine. We went for a cruise, and docked the boat just fine. About 10 minutes later, Juan decides that he wants to go to one of the islands in the middle of the lake, and wants me to come with him. He begins to pressure me to get into a canoe and go with him. My problem is that canoes can capsize much easier than boats do. After 10 minutes of deliberating, I finally decide to go.
The Camp Chronicles: Saturday Part II
I hop into the canoe and we start paddling. Now, this was the first time that I had ever been in a canoe, and Juan wasn't very experienced either, (He never admitted it verbally, but I could tell, since he couldn't tell the difference between a canoe and a kayak) but we eventually made it to this island. We got on land, and feeling pretty good about myself, sat down. I had made it about 1km across a lake on my first time canoeing. All of a sudden, I hear "Woah!" from behind me. I get up, and after some intense parkour over trees and such, I see Juan holding a pile of empty shotgun casings. So, that's cool. The trip back to the docks was where everything fell apart. As we were on our way back, we got caught in the wind, and our efforts to paddle forward were thwarted by the fact that we were sitting in the canoe backwards. We actually had to stop at another island, call over one of the other campers, and Juan and him switched boats so we could get home. All in all, we spent over 2 hours on the water because of a stupid mistake.
The Camp Chronicles: Sunday
Sunday was crappy. I was rudely awakened at about 9:00am after being kept up until close to 1:00am by the same person who woke me up. We had a small church meeting, and did absolutely nothing for the rest of the day.
The Camp Chronicles: Monday
Monday was okay. I got up at about 7:00am and started packing. Once everything was packed, it was discovered that one of the guys at the camp had 2 extra 2 litre bottles of root beer he had to get rid of. Note to self. Watching somebody attempt to chug and entire bottle of rootbeer is fun. Attempting it yourself, is not fun. My stomach really hurt afterward, and I felt like I was going to be sick multiple times. I failed the challenge, much to the chagrin of all my fellow campmates, and much to the dismay of myself. Flash forward about 5 hours. I'm home now. Camp was fun, home is better. Hopefully I can remember to blog tomorrow, If I ever get out of bed.
